... Excessive heat warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this
evening...

* affected area... elevations generally below 4000 feet in utahs
Dixie and Zion National Park... including the city of St George.

* Temperatures... high temperatures of 105 to 110.

* Heat index values... around 105.

* Impacts... this period of excessive heat will increase the
likelihood of heat related illnesses.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The hot temperatures
will create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are
likely. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned
room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM MDT Saturday
for dry thunderstorms and gusty outflow winds for fire weather
zones 492... 493... 495... 497 and 498...

* affected area... fire weather zone 492 central Utah west
desert... fire weather zone 493 central Utah mountains... fire
weather zone 495 color Country West desert... fire weather zone
497 Mojave Desert and fire weather zone 498 Grand Staircase.

* Thunderstorms... isolated to scattered mainly dry thunderstorms
will exist primarily this evening... then develop again late
Saturday morning. These thunderstorms will continue through
the afternoon and evening hours Saturday.

* Outflow winds... gusty and erratic winds in excess of 40 mph
will be possible with any storms that develop.

* Impacts... the threat of lightning and gusty winds in addition to
very dry conditions will bring the potential of multiple new
fire starts.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
