weather zones 490 and 491 below 8000 feet...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire
Weather Watch below 8000 feet for wind and low relative humidity,
which is in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday
evening. A red flag warning remains in effect below 8000 feet from
10 am this morning through 9 PM MDT this evening for wind and low
relative humidity.

* Affected area... in Utah, fire weather zone 490 Colorado River
Basin and fire weather zone 491 southeast Utah below 8000 feet.

* Winds... west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative humidity... 5 to 10 percent.

* Impacts... rapid rates of fire growth and spread are possible
under these conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 11 PM MDT Saturday
for wind and low relative humidity for fire weather zones 488 and
489 below 8000 feet...

* affected area... fire weather zone 488 Manti National Forest
below 8000 feet and fire weather zone 489 San Rafael Swell
below 8000 feet.

* Winds... northwest gusts around 25 mph today. Southwest winds
will return Saturday.

* Relative humidity... 7 to 10 percent each afternoon with poor
overnight recovery.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will have the potential to
spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or are imminent. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
