This blog will feature the cacti that my daughter and I saw on our southern Arizona trip earlier this month. The first stop is Saguaro National Park, just on the fringe of Tucson. There are two districts and we had planned to see both on the same day, but that was too ambitious, since we had seen other sights earlier in the day and did a lot of driving in between. So my photos are from the eastern district, or Rincon Mountains Dis...

I am back from the desert! My youngest daughter and I returned a few days ago from our spin through the Sonoran Desert of southern Arizona. We had a wonderful trip! Different places to stay each night, a little under 1,000 miles of road travel, some roads very rough dirt, most two lane, some hiking, lots of photos, and stops at several national parks. Picnics daily, time up-close on the Mexican border, two museums in Phoenix and ...

The New Year is well underway now! I made it through the holidays, got well, enjoyed two weeks with our daughter's family and grandson James (and the rest of our family too!) and lately I have been busy cleaning up and putting Christmas away for another year. The work people here have returned to their schedules and life is moving back to normal.

Winter is surely here now, and it has been more "wintry" than the last year or two were...

A lot of water has passed under the bridge since my last blog. Now the water has even turned to snow! We had our first snowfall of the season here at home last evening. We got about 3". I have been waiting for enough daylight to get a photo before it washes away. Already it is hovering right about freezing and there is a light drizzle of rain, or whatever, kind of mushing it down. Rain is expected the rest of today and on the weeke...
