Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 6:16 PM MDT on July 07, 2015

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southwestern Mesa County in west central Colorado...
southeastern Grand County in east central Utah...

* until 915 PM MDT

* at 611 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms falling over an area that had received significant
rainfall earlier this afternoon. This additional rainfall and
runoff will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory
area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gateway... John Brown Canyon... and along State Road 141 from
Gateway to about 8 miles south of Gateway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water on roadways and minor mud
or rock slides. Also expected is minor flooding of small creeks and
streams... as well as ranch and country roads. Do not attempt to
travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
