Statement as of 3:04 PM CST on December 14, 2009 ... Wind Chill Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to 11 am CST Tuesday... The National Weather Service in Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued a Wind Chill Advisory... which is in effect from midnight tonight to 11 am CST Tuesday. * Wind chill values in the 25 to 30 below range will develop over much of central and southern Minnesota... late tonight into Tuesday morning. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and gloves. |

A quick moving and strengthening upper level low pressure produced several hours of light to moderate snow across the area. The snowfall had very Little Water content. Snowfall totals were the highest in a corridor from the northwest Twin Cities Metro area to the U.S. Highway 8 corridor of west central Wisconsin.
