Discussion
Today looks to be the warmest day of the year so far. A strong ridge over us will allow warm air to enter our area. Highs should be near 80F. Temps should slowly cool down due to drier air and a more southeasterly flow. Showers will move into the area early next week and temperatures will be close to normal.

Written Forecast:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Chance of rain 10% and chance of snow 0%. The high will be near 79F.
Discussion
A warm front will be moving through the area over the next couple days. Then the low pressure itself should move somewhere in our area. This will bring a period of rain and thunderstorms to the area. Some of the storms will be strong to severe on Monday and Wednesday. The dynamics won't be great, but the chance for isolated large hail or a damaging wind gust is there. Heavy rain is also an issue from any storm that develops. Several inches of rain wi...

Today is April 3rd, which means we are about 60 days away from the 2013 hurricane season. This season is expected to be quite active once again. I'll do my formal forecast in the next couple days since I'm on spring break. Anyway, this will be my first full Atlantic and Epac hurricane season with Wunderground. Last year had some up and downs for me. I had some success and some failure with forecasting hurricanes, Sandy vs Isaac & Ernesto respectively. I was also jus...

Discussion
For the remainder of the week, the weather should be quiet. A steady warmup will occur throughout the week as temperatures get into the 50s. Dry conditions shall prevail until the weekend. Precipitation should be all liquid as warm air surges into the area. Heavy rain may be possible, but that is something that needs to be watched. Also, the impact-based warnings started two days ago. They provide better life saving information to the public. Finally...

Late season snowstorm

Crippling late season snowstorm looks to be on the way late this week! Expect snowfall totals over 24" in some areas with considerable blowing and drifting snow. All roads will be closed, flights cancelled, schools closed for days, and life will come to a stand-still. You better start stocking up on supplies as stores will be closed for several days. The GFS, ECMWF, CMC, UKMET, NAVGEM, etc have latched on to this solution. The NWS is considering issuing a blizzard w...
