Nothing remarkable going on regarding the visiting cats; that's the good news. They continue to settle into life at a slow pace now that the craziness of the shorebird festival is over. I have bowed out of the library board, cut back my Master Gardener duties to those involving North Beach activities only, and am learning to say "No" to any further volunteer activities. This is all in hopes of spending more time with my furry family, going out on birding trips, and ...

I have added two more photos of the newest additions to the house...and my heart. I can tell you one thing about these two cats, they are just about as affectionate as cats can be. I have a really comfortable recliner in which I watch the news every evening. As soon as I sit down in it and push it into the reclining mode, Dutchie jumps into my lap and then stretches her length along my right side, all the way up to my shoulder, inviting me to pet her, accompanied by...

A bit more on their behaviors; Joe had said Fluff was shy, but she was the first to approach me and offer me her trust maybe because she has been in strange situations before. She likes to sit and watch my cats and dog from the safety of the doorway of "their" room, tail switching back and forth.

She also hisses at Maggie, although not as ferociously as before. Maggie actually got to within a foot of Fluff last night, so the hissing isn't serious any more...

Responding to JoeAlaska's plea for cat caretakers for a while I knew I could do this as well if not better than most, as I have done it before. They joined my own two cats and a big yellow lab on April 2nd, and I have promised to show photos and keep their many fans up to date with their life in my home.

A Break in the Weather

I decided to take the dog to the beach during a break in the rain, hoping the falcons would also take advantage of the break. Peregrines don't usually hunt if the wind gets much over 15mph, and because the forecast for the next few days is going to be one system after another, these birds have to hunt every chance they get.

So I walked out onto the beach just before high tide, knowing there is also a storm surge, and that will keep most vehicles off the b...
