Well here we go with Winter Storm Euclid, and unlike last week, those of us in the Ft. Wayne region will probably remember that name for at least the short term. A southwest ejector, Euclid, will move into our area by mid morning at best.As it moves to the northeast, snow will be the major issue us here face. The GFS seems to have a good handle on this system, please do discount the NAM and it's exceptional totals. We and no one near here hopefully recieve anything ...

First blog in quite a while and I'm gonna make it brief. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Ft. Wayne area by the National Weather Service Northern Indiana office. Generally they are forecasting a broad 3-6" swath across the area, with the higher totals north and west of the city. After looking over the various computer models and such, I tend to concur, with perhaps a little emphasis on the middle and higher range of the official forecast. Where I si...

Severe Storms, Flash Flooding Possible in Muncie

A stormy and wet day is at hand. As of this sentence the first rumbles of thunder can be heard in the Muncie area. With this first area expect some torrential rains and possible hail. The more severe side of things will not ramp up until this afternoon, and it's then that we will need to watch out for the possibility of some severe weather. There is a threat of some tornadoes, but with some luck we may just end up with large hail and torrential rain being the predom...

Rain, Storms for Muncie

After a relatively dry week here in the Muncie area rain and thunderstorms are returning to Central Indiana. From the looks of some computer models, and HPC guidance, lots of moisture could be on the horizon. Today through Saturday nightRadar shows a area of light rain to our west that will arrive this afternoon. There is a chance of some thunderstorms, but they should be weak in nature and not come close to severe limits. Still, a strong storm cannot be ruled out. ...

Well long time no blog. I must say I've finally learned my lesson regarding flu shots, and will be getting one annually from here on out. I don't like sickness, and I've had a lifetimes worth the last few weeks. Rant over.Forecast now through mid-week to be much coolerWell we've dried out quite a bit since my last post. No flood threats currently in our area, which is nice. We've been spoiled with this warm spring weather, but reality is returning swiftly. No more t...
