Anemometer Out of Whack

So apparently when I was up on the roof adjusting the antenna mast last time, I didn't crank down the clamps tightly enough, and the mast pole appears to have rotated in its mount so that the anemometer is not pointing south anymore - more like south-southwest. Going to have to fix that in the near future...

So all I had to do, for the past several weeks, to reset the rain gauge and the anemometer signals, was to press the reset button on the base station, without a single trip up onto the roof.Oh well, live and learn.I replaced the outdoor sensor's batteries yesterday as well.

So, the anemometer batteries died recently, but now the anemometer's stuck, and is only registering wind direction, not speed. Looks to be frozen. I tried to hit it with some anti-freeze but doing so from a distance at an angle was a rather dicey proposition, and when I tossed a snowball at it, it turned a little, but it didn't loosen up, so it may be more than just ice.Why these things have to happen in the middle of winter, I just don't know.The outdoor sensor's...

Anemometer Back Online

The bug in the Meteohub software which was causing the last pre-failure windspeed data to continue being uploaded was cleared with a reboot, but the anemometer was still offline. I replaced the battery a few days ago, but that wasn't it - I had to go back up and hit the "reset" button on the unit in order to get the console to pick up its transmissions again. At least it has new batteries which should last it until spring 2010.

Power Outages

The ice storm took out our power and internet connection from Midnight Friday the 12th until 8:00pm Sunday the 14th. While the weather station was running off generator power, it couldn't upload the data here. I've asked for a feature enhancement to the Meteohub software.And yesterday afternoon, we apparently had another little power glitch, which meant that the Meteohub, which I had unplugged from the UPS which was collapsing under the strain of noisy and off-fre...
