The weather pattern for the next week in January in North Texas looks mild to say the least. Days in the 50s to 60s and lows in the 30s. Not too shabby.

This is a great time to talk about nature and weather, to be exact how I read nature to give me "hints" into what the weather holds.

Some of these "weather tricks" I learned from my grandmother. My grandmother was born in 1903 and until she was 20 there were no "weather forecast". People had to...

It snowed!

Well, like I said yesterday, there was a chance of snow/sleet and we got it. My area in North Texas received around .8 of an inch to 1 inch, depending on who took the measurement. At my exact location, 1 inch of snow.

This is such a great treat, considering last year, we had a very warm winter and could barely wear long sleeves. Snow/ice even cold air was just a far off dream.

Will the rest of the week hold an icy surprise? Probably not, as th...

A Chill in the Air

Right now in North Texas there is a definite arctic chill in the air. While the temp today reached into the low forties, the air held an iciness that one could feel wrapping around their arms and faces and applying a slight bit of pressure.

Tonight the low is forecast to be around 27 with a NE wind between 10 - 15 mph, with possibility of sleet/light ice. Whether we receive any precipitation of the frozen variety or not, the icy fingers of this blast of ...
