Super Bowl Sunday started manageable. But boats kept pulling in. Early on, I thought I would see the big game no problem. But then it got tight. I bought the guys pizza for lunch and we kept on working. Around 4:15 Alaska time it all came to a close. I knew I was dreaming, but I thought I was able to see kickoff. I got home at 4:30 PM exactly. I turned on the TV and I saw a lot of SAINTS high fiving. The announcers were talking about as on-side kick after ha...

Friday was cold, snowing, and gusting wind. Seems to happen on our biggest day of the week when we unload the containers. There was a big vessel waiting for our food. They would call us at the last minute and have us deliver whatever we had unloaded up to that point. They said they would be leaving at 11 AM.At 5:30 they were still here, due to problems with the onload. So we stressed out early and ended up getting them everything. They were very happy about ho...

A long day for us in Dutch. Phone was ringing at 7 AM. A cargo plane landed this evening where we had a load of freight to deliver at 8:15 PM.The weather here has been boring and consistent. But today it was 20 degrees and blowing 20-30 mph. It snowed most of the day, although the sun came out in between squalls. The wind was the real issue, but the guys toughed it out and got the job done. Boats were waiting for food. One was supposed to leave at 11AM, and w...

First things first. Still no Hoppy. Getting close to two weeks he is MIA. I really believe he will be back. Last night I saw the first fox since Hoppy went missing. Dark Boy was walking along the ledge by my house. We had a short conversation where I invited him to dine alfresco. He declined and slunk into the dark oblivion. We had a little unexpected snow last night, just a dusting. But the real news is that the temperature is getting more to what most of yo...

Day Seven and still counting. No sign of Hoppy. No sign of ANY foxes since then. The last time I saw him, Hoppy headed straight up the hill to the very top. He stopped right on the edge and curled up for a nap. I yelled up at him and his ears perked up. Last I saw of him.The weather today was very nice. Oh sure, it rained and was windy at times. But the sun came out at mid-morning, hesitated with a couple of storms coming through, then exploded and stayed ar...
