Wow. Last night, the heavens just OPENED and rain came down and came down! It's only about 63°F here at the moment, but it feels so much nicer than the 95°+ that we had here yesterday afternoon (unofficially). We even had thunder and lightening -- quite the light show, and the thunder was impressive, too. Wish I could say it had been good sleeping weather, but it wasn't. It's still a bit too light out, so we have the windows covered. I'm thinking I could dea...

...I think my eyeballs are seriously sweating..... eeuuww... Official temp is only 82 at the moment, but it feels so much hotter. There's not as much smoke as two days ago, and probably not as much smoke as yesterday. There's a rumor of rain in the forecast after midnight. If that happens, I'm sure the garden will explode....Oh, and yesterday in Anchorage, it got to 81°F (that's record), but probably even MORE stunning is that Kotzebue (up above the Arctic Cir...

Will this affect our Cap and Trade? Visibility now down to fewer than 2 miles, and my eyes hurt. Watching the daughter 'cause she's got breathing issues. Fires burning all over the Interior and no rain in sight for days. Bleh. It's turning into the summer of 2005. I feel terribly for the folks who have booked their Alaska adventure now and all they see is smoke. At least the sunsets (at 1230am) will be nice...if we can see the sun....Wow..... WOW! We went d...

Rain's stopped. It's been a nice, sunny day, a little breezy, and only about 70°F at its warmest. It's just about 10pm, the sun is shining, and there's no way I can go to sleep yet, so I'm treking out the garden to water a bit. The potatoes are up, I'm going to have to build a trellis for the sugar snaps before we leave on Thursday, and the cucumbers really don't like where they are. That's a bit of a bummer.Hope everyone's having a great night!
I'm disappointed. No rants and raves (or cheers and support) in the blog-o-sphere of the Wunderground for this. I think it's the second coming of the Benedictine idea of selling indulgences -- remember from High School history? Some people were soooooo good and holy that they had excess good and holy just dripping off them, so they could sell that excess good and holy to those poor schleps who were just plain evil and that would balance everything out so they'd g...
