Steve "Air" McNair was killed in a shooting today, along with a woman who was thought to be his girlfriend. Jay Bennett, an original member of the group Wilco, died May 24th of an overdose. Some more of my musical faves: Robert Wyatt used to lead the brilliant late 60's band Soft Machine. A fall from a 3rd floor window left him paralyzed from the waist down in 1973. A few things I've encountered on YouTube in my new goal of improving my fingerpicking...Martin Tallstrom posts videos under the name "pinofluvius". I grew up around music. My dad has a gorgeous voice, and my uncle is a reknowned jazz bassist in Europe. I play guitar and have played it since age 9. I have three guitars presently: a Fender Stratocaster (electric), a Reverend Slingshot Custom (electric) and a 30 year old Ibanez acoustic I bought from someone when it was age two. I keep the Fender around because, well, it's cool to have one; and I keep the Reverend around because they don't make that model anymore....
