Summer Thoughts

I used to issue a summer forecast I'm not doing that anymore but I have a few thoughts. The Summer of 2014 has been one of Humid mid 80-mid 90 degree days with some high 70's and even one record breaking 101 in September. Rain has been lower than average but not drought like. We could be in for a drier than average Fall which in turn could stay warm. (9/8/2014)

The Month of June 2012 set up for the Hottest set of July days in recent and on some days all time history. in Early to Mid July we hit 100+ more than 7 times and we had a line of storms hit the weekend before July 4th causing massive power outages during this 100 degree outbreak. Types of advisories to expect:
Thunderstorm Advisory: Low risk of severe weather but keep an eye out (main advisory for summer)
Severe Weather Watch/Warning: Mod risk of severe weather
Extreme Weather Watch/Warning: High risk of Severe weather including Tornadoes and this would also be issued for land falling tropical systems that would have severe weather.

Weather Statement:Today expect rain sometimes heavy be on watch for some small ponding. Heat will make a small return midweek followed by a cooling trend toward weekend. (9/8/2014)

Lake Chesdin is currently at overflow level. We are getting hit or miss storms which as of right now are keeping things just above the overflow. The drought advisory has been dropped as rain as kept things going.
