Around 1:00 am this morning I witnessed a bright flash, almost like an explosion, that lit the sky as if it were day. A few seconds later I heard a loud boom as if a thunder clap. I actually tuned the TV to check the weather radar for an errant thunderstorm, yet the skies were clear. Please see the article below that describes what I witnessed. Did any of you witness this as well?======================================== A Mason-Dixon meteor?via Maryland Weather...

another stormy day

Looks like this afternoon will be similar to our previous afternoons; stormy. The atmosphere is primed for strong storms with high dewpoints and sheer as well as a frontal boundary moving into the area. The Storm Prediction Center in OK has placed our area under a slight risk for strong storms. I see today as a blend of Tuesday and yesterday. What I mean: Tuesday we had a watch issued while yesterday we jumped right to a warning. I see today a watch being issue...

Wednesday storm potential

Today should not be as intense as was yesterday. A cold front continues to stay on the MD/PA border and the atmosphere will continue to be unstable, yet a lifting force is not as evident today. If storms pop up it should be after 3:00 pm and they will be scattered. But, those that do see storms could experience strong winds and hail. I have no doubt a thunderstorm watch will again be issued later today.
