According to the directory, it has been 130 days since my last blog. It's taken me 15 days to get my "new years blog" and if I don't hurry up and say "happy new year" to you all - it will soon be February, or even 2013.I live in a small town, and the end-of-year-in-review newspaper articles are usually the same stuff each year..... This year, however, the top story was/is the occurance of sinkholes. In September (?), the first sink hole was in a parking lot for a...

I woke up this morning to a yellow glow in the air. It's hard to explain.. The sky wasn't yellow - just the air. I have only remembered seeing that condition a few times before, and it was generally associated with an approaching hurricane. Needless to say, I did a quick WU check to be sure there were no surprises.I have searched through many of my "old" blogs looking for a comment about a similar occurrence. I think it was right before Ophelia came (passing nea...

8/27/11 Irene is gone and she left little damage here, as expected. That is NOT the case in NC now, and beyond. I've been watching specifically for news from areas of friends/family. TV news keeps focusing on the beaches, and repeating the same places. I am getting the news I was looking for, from local livestream stations, and local TV facebook page. I feel SO connected being able to keep up with the areas. I am so thankful to find info is out there for speci...

My previous blog was definately outdated. I figure it's time to replace the "forecast of snow" as well as the Easter/Mother's Day greetings. I had managed to upload a few "spring has sprung" photos, but my "blog" has moved straight from winter to summer.Well, technically May is still spring and is supposedly the month of "May flowers" but around here the flowers are in April, and May is the month that teases of summer. Two of the random things that come to my mind...
