Before I get to today, I must update for the 8th and 9th, but I will be brief.On the 8th we stayed down in Eastern Central Colorado. The weather didn't pan out and after hours of waiting for capping to disappear, we gave up. We traveled that night to Denver for a night of recuperation, which took the form of the Rockies game.On the 9th we moved up to Cheyenne, Wy once again waiting for convection to start bubbling. Hello all, from the Nebraska/Iowa border! We are nearing the final week of Vortex2, which ends June 15th, so there is certainly a renewed sense of urgency within the group to ensure the best data collection. The past few weeks have been pretty inactive for Vortex 2 in terms of severe weather targets. We have seen more U.S. national monuments lately than tornados. Last Thursday we were able to visit Devils Tower in Wyoming, which appeared in Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
