why is it so hot in Texas?

yesterday the high was 107F when the normal high should be around 93-95F. we also haven't seen rain in months so that means all the grass is dead. why is south Texas so Hot and when will this heat go away. please pray that our area gets rain soon and if you know why we've been having record heat please tell me. thanks for reading.
