I have been away from WU this week, and it is time to sit down here and explain another turn and twist in our lives. Unfortunately it doesn't involve our deck project, which suddenly has disappeared from view.

Perhaps my title for this new blog is wishcasting for the month, but we are off to a good start in the new month of May. Sunshine and well above temperatures are greeting us for this first week of the month, and only getting better over the coming weekend. A busy weekend has passed. My sister came and we spent the weekend sorting my mom's things further, deciding what to keep and what not to. We made good progress but I still have a mess in my basement. A few days on my own should make a big difference with that.

A Pineapple Express is heading our way and we are awaiting the rain to arrive. For those who don't know what these are, it is basically a "fire hose" of rain aimed right at us, and the "hose" is connected to the hydrant down around Hawaii. A steady river of moisture that taps into the subtropics, so a lot of moisture is entrained into the flow, and it is also much warmer than our typical Gulf of Alaska systems.
