	<description><![CDATA[We just spoke with Richard.  The makeshift hospital at University Quisqeya (our staging area) is serving 300 people a day.  The only suppliues and equipment they have access to are those provided by us and a few other small NGO's.  They have received no assistance from any governmental or large institutional relief organization or entity.  Surgeries are being performed without anesthesia. Children are getting sick...and beginning to die...for lack of medicines. He expressed a crying need for tents. 	<description><![CDATA[The UN sub cluster on disability will convene its' first meeting today in PauP @ 2:30PM local time.  We have connected Richard into that.  Also, the USAID coordination call on Monday will focus exclusively on disability issues...as the result of our insistence. He is from there, is well connected there, and has a skill set and life experiences which will be invaluable to our work there.He will be travelling by ship.
