At 11:00am in San Diego, it's 63 degrees and mostly sunny. The weather icons around here are tricky -- residents know that often when the weather websites indicate that it's "cloudy" in San Diego, it's really more sunny than cloudy. A few whisps of fog or tendrils of cloud in the valleys in the morning really do not, on the whole, leave a person on the ground with a sense of "cloudiness" when the sun is shining -- and that is essentially the circumstance now. Nonethe...

At 6:40am in Bay Park, San Diego, it's clear and 48 degrees -- the coldest it's been so far this season.Yesterday we had a windstorm blowing in from the north; the wind scoured dust clouds off of Fiesta Island and the other Mission Bay islands and enveloped the 5 Freeway in dust. On the other hand, it was bright and clear, and the humidity was well below 20% for much of the day; high temperatures reached only into the upper 60s.Today we're looking for a calmer day, ...

At 2:30pm in San Diego, it's 71 degrees and sunny. It's been a beautiful weekend in San Diego. Today in my neighborhood, we've had the pleasure of bright sun and a moderate breeze, although it's hazy on the horizon. We're looking at a warmer day tomorrow -- it should be nearly 80 degrees along the coast. After that, we'll have cooler, cloudier weather.October is one of the sunniest months in Southern California, but we're in the middle of the transition into our wint...

At 9:05am in San Diego, it's 69 degrees and mostly cloudy.Just kidding on that rainstorm, huh? While Northern and Central California got inches of sweet, sweet rain, we got nothing -- hardly one single drop, nothing more than a trace. Even LA got in on the action, with some significant rainfall in the basin and certainly some measurable rain at LAX.According to the weather gurus, the position of the jet stream just to the north of us inhibited the significant transi...

At 9:35am in San Diego, it's 62 degrees and sunny.Yesterday couldn't have been prettier. The high in San Diego was 67 degrees, eight degrees cooler than average because of low pressure aloft. As far as I'm concerned, the shift to a more fall-like cooler pattern is the best time of the year here in Southern California (and not just because it's football season). Clouds alternated with sun all day, and I left my windows open. For the first time in months, my house was...
