Hi everybody,After un poor summer, wet and cool until mid August, the fall has been very mild and dry.In September I broke my monthly record with 25.1C (we were 14C above the normals), and two days ago I also broke my record for October with 18.7C. Whitehorse was 0.3C below its monthly record.This week, we may definitely get a change in patterns and we may get our first -10C of the season.I will just add a picture (sorry for the poor quality) of a northern lights sh...

51 cm snow on ground (personal record at my station), 18 cm snowfall since Tuesday, 1.60m snowfall for the season.Winter is back here in South Yukon.Unfortunately, we may be above zero this afternoon... too bad, this is so beautiful !Link

First cold wave of the season in Yukon?

Good morning everybody,We may be our first cold wave of the winter starting Monday next week, EC, GFS and ECMWF agree on its arrival, looking now for its strength... -20C for sure, -30C????Here is the GFS outlook for the upcoming week.Starting tomorrow, we should also get some snow, it will be a pleasure while snow on ground is very poor (between 0 and 3 cm).This morning, we have temperatures ranging from -11 and -30, now -13.6C in Hidden Valley, around -15C before ...
