The wind is up

The wind has picked up quite a bit here. Last night has thin clouds moving through, but I could have observed except the forecast had indicated heavier clouds than actually appeared. The sky has been mostly clear today. Tonight we get a frigid front and it will get cold (for here) with continued winds, so no observing.

The weather was fairly nice today, if you like cirrus clouds and jet contrails. Cirrus pushed across the area most of the day and one band has cleared, but more is coming, so no observing tonight. Sometimes you can see the contrails on the satellite images, but I did not notice them today, but they sure were all over the sky.

Friday night looks better for observing.
