I took this photo yesterday as I was "practicing " for summer vacation! School is out on Friday, but I had a half day because of a school event that I was NOT required to attend. I came home at noon and worked in the garden and went for a long walk in the sunshine. It was great...can't wait for school to be over and start enjoying the lazy days of summer. the weather is fantastic with clear, cool nights and warm, sunny days.

Our daughter retu...

The predicted high is 70 here today. It will be the warmest day since early last fall. I'm excited to run my new lawn mower I purchased a few weeks ago. The mister has decided that he doesn't want to mow anymore but he thought our old mower was still fine. Um, No. The old mower took 12-20 pulls of the cord before it started. At that point I was already to go in and have some iced tea. The new one doesn't quite cooperate on the first pull, but at the second one...

"The Worst of it is Over" said the Mailman

New month deserves a new outlook and a new blog entry. Today I viewed my first real sign of spring here along Lake Michigan... and then as I walked back toward home I laughed as I saw a flock of wild turkeys crossing behind me "Abbey Road style." Yes, I believe the mailman's words were correct, "The worst of it is over." Only a few more weeks until Spring Break and Easter. The birds were even singing this morning as I was getting ready for school.

Seems like it is about time to start a new blog since it is a new year. I was looking at my New Years Eve picture from last year and was surprised to see less snow than we have now. After all, it IS Michigan and we are suppose to have snow. The ground has just little patches of the white stuff here and there...last January we had none on this day.

This is beautiful view is just a few minutes away from my home here along Lake Michigan. It pretty much looks like this all year around, except on the snowiest days of hard winters. It is timeless.
