The National Weather Service has changed the forecast yet again. Now it's not going to be as hot as previously thought. I'm sure the forecast will change again over the course of the day today. For now, here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service: Today: Sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming south between 4 and 7 mph. Tonight: Clear, with a low around 61. South southeast wind between 5 and 7 mph. Friday: Sunny, with a high near 87. East win...

The weather over the past couple of days has been fabulous, with clear skies, light breezes, and mild (well, relatively) temperatures. That trend should last two more days before we see highs back into the 90s for late this weekend/ early next week. It's been very nice sleeping with the windows open at night lately. That's one good thing about Northern California in the summertime- little humidity. It actually cools down at night, without all the stickiness. Right n...

The current temperature in Chico is a very pleasant 81 degrees. This morning's low was a cool 55 degrees. I slept with the windows open last night, and it was so nice snuggling under the covers! The nice, mild weather should stick around the next few days, but, because of the time of year, it will heat up again. By early next week we should see highs back up into the mid 90s. For now, I'm going to enjoy this weather! Here's the forecast for Chico from the NWS:Tonigh...

Happy 233rd birthday, United States of America! Of course, evryone knows (or should know) that on this date 233 years ago (July 4th, 1776), our founding fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence to become independent of England. This country has had its ups and downs since then, but our basic form of government still exists. I believe that is a testament to the people of this country, and our shared belief that we all want to be free. Despite the fact that I am ...

Maybe yesterday was not an anomaly, after all. True, today was another hot one, with the high temperature in Chico reaching 99 degrees. However, as I look at the forecast, I can see that highs will continue to decrease from the near record highs of the past week. By early next week, Chico should see highs nearly ten degrees below normal. Fantastic! And, so far, my prediction of a not so hot summer is playing out. I stated in earlier blogs that this summer will be ho...
