Forecast Of Around A Foot Of Snow In Central NJ On Track

Good evening, everyone!I am just checking the latest models (ie 00Z) and they continue to show a pretty decent storm for central New Jersey. In general, we can expect about a foot across the area, with slightly higher amounts near the coast and slightly lower amounts near the Delaware River.Earlier today a couple models went pretty bonkers and showed us potentially getting up to 2 feet, but they have backed off a little for the 00Z run. It's still possible that we...

Central New Jersey In Line For A Major Snowstorm

Merry Christmas central New Jersey! We all must have been good boys and girls, because Santa used some of his magic on the computer models yesterday and cooked us up a major snowstorm for tomorrow and tomorrow night! On Thursday, the models pretty unanimously took to storm out to sea, but now they are all on board for a pretty significant storm. Everything should kick off around daybreak tomorrow and continue into tomorrow night. As the storm rapidly intensifies ...

No White Christmas For Central NJ :-( But A Chance For A Big Storm Right After

My fellow central New Jersey friends, unfortunately our chances for a white Christmas are looking pretty slim. Christmas is only three days away and there does not appear to be any systems that will bring nary a flake to our neck of the woods over the next few days. In general, we can expect dry, cold and breezy conditions. That's the sad news. :-(On the brighter side, there is a good chance that we will see at least some snow Sunday, Sunday night and/or into Mond...

Central NJ's Donut Hole and A Potential Christmas Day Storm

For us that live in central New Jersey, it's been a pretty snowless winter so far. That's not the case for our friends and family in other parts of the state and region. In fact, if you were to look at the current snow cover map issued by the NWS you'd see that our area is one of the only in the region without snow. Hence, we are smack middle in the donut hole of no snow.As mentioned the on Friday, there are two more chances for snow between now and Christmas. W...

No Coastal Storm This Weekend For Central, Probably For SE MA

Time to throw in the towel on the weekend storm for us in central NJ. Is it still possible? Maybe, but less than a 10% chance. Even then, it would most likely be for only coastal sections of the state. That being said, SE Mass will still likely get a storm out of it as the storm explodes off the NE coastline. So, it that it, a green Christmas for us? Well based on what I'm seeing today in the models and the pattern there are still a couple chances for snow but the...
