Well, the Red Sox have a new manager... at the very least, things should be interesting around here next year.It has been a while since I've posted. Coincidentally my last post was around Valentine's Day 2010 when my big weather beef was the lack of snow. It is only the cusp of December, so there is most of the season left, but dang, where is the cold and snow?I started running a few years ago and for that reason alone I have been enjoying this disturbingly warm w...

This has gotten ridiculous. It was bad enough last week when areas in the mid Atlantic were hammered with back to back blizzards. But over the past three days, serious accumulations have occurred from Texas, through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina with even a little bit of snow in Florida. As we pause on the eve of Valentine's day in this snowless Boston 2010, the official tally for Boston thus far in February is 1.6". Even further nort...

It has been quite a week for snow lovers on the East Coast. I, like everybody else, have been amazed at the snowfall amounts seen from VA to NJ last weekend. Unfortunately, nothing more than a brief flurry fell on the area. This time around, it looks like we will get at least some accumulating snow. Unfortunately (depending on who you ask), it is looking more and more possible that we will not be getting blasted. However, it is looking like it should be a pleas...

Well, tis a bitter pill to swallow, but the NY Yankees are champs again. Not that I have much to complain about as a Boston area sports fan; it has been, and continues to be, a great stretch. Now that baseball season is over, I don't stop loving and watching sports. However, I do spend much more time looking at the weather now that we are approaching real snow season (October 18th was a freak occurrence!).It looks like in the next 24 hours there is a wee bit of a...

Wow, is it Winter? Areas just west and north of Boston expereinced a coating of snow last night into this morning. Early this morning, there were even a few slushy flakes landing among the raindrops on my windshield here in Roslindale. Widespread temps in the 30's, even along the coast, rudely greeted early morning commuters. Yet, it is not quite winter yet. We are barely halfway through October. Here in the Boston area, the foliage is just now approaching pea...
