It is not enough to charge outrageous prices for software that is crap. Microsoft also has to know that you have acquired it legally. The Genuine advantage Microsoft update is RESPONSIBLE for crashing my weather station computer. The lack of reporting is a DIRECT RESULT of their UPDATE fowling my machine and stopping any reporting.Do I have any illegal software on my machine? NO!!! And, I do not appreciate Microsoft trying to police MY machine. Get the F--K OU...

After some troubleshooting with the support staff at Davis, my Davis Pro II Weather Station is finally back up and reporting the weather 24/7. Apparently, when the lithium cell within the Davis Pro II has lived its full life and is no longer providing all of its required services, the weather station goes to a reporting mode where it only reports the weather for a few hours a day. While the console continued to respond with all the data, over the last 6 months, my...

Climate Appears to be Cooling Here in Maine

Snow before Halloween? Cooler than normal summer temperatures? Colder and snowier winters? A longer time period with snow on the ground? A trend in lower average monthly temperatures (i.e., lower highs, lows, and average temperatures) over the last 6 years?Everything about my experience here in Maine seems to suggest we are headed for an ice age, not global warming.

I have a computer dedicated (i.e., always on) to up loading weather information from my Davis Vantage Pro 2/Vue with Weatherlink. The computer runs Windows XP Pro and has only one other active program - a free phone line zapper to screen calls. The problem I have is that the Weatherlink software seems to arbitrarily stop working (the program crashes/freezes and stops up loading to the Internet). I used to think this was a response to the computer freezing up on M...
