We have been traveling Route 26 in Maine a lot lately and finally stopped to take a photo. The scenery along this road is quite spectacular with views of Mount Washington and many lakes a common view. The water tower I have posted though is one of my favorites. As a child I drove past the farm this tank is on every weekend to visit my grandparents farm. We visited my grandparents farm last week and found it converted into a house. No animals except a dog and cat. I ...

Starting off boating season

We bought a new boat this spring and finally got it in the water last Sunday. We ventured to Middle Range Pond in Poland Springs Maine to test the boat motor as this was a used boat.Needless to say we had a fouled plug once we got to the middle of the pond. With a fast front approaching from the southwest we were able to finally get the motor going just as it started to rain.Rain drops the size of shot glasses it seemed. The kids were happy we could head to the dock...

We walked Old Orchard Beach last night to finish out St. Paddy's day. The beach was dark with no apparent moon. We had a flashlight and actually found a sand dollar! The beach is starting to get populated again with a sighting of a car from Quebec it won't be long.

We have had enough of the snow. Ocean Park still has two feet of snow on the ground. With the temps in the 40's we have been able to walk on the beach and collect shells. The shells and dogs were all around us and we had a great time walking the beach. This week should melt some snow and help us get back to work.

Ice Fishing

We finally renewed our fishing licenses and went fishing! We ventured to Highland Lake in Windham, Maine to find the lake empty with exception of three dogs. The ice was 12 inches thick with about two inches of snow on top. Drilling our holes was easy though as our hand auger makes quick work of the ice.The temperature stayed around 22 degrees but the sun warmed us. We only had one flag pop up. But we will try to get out again this week as we still have some shiners l...
