Pampas: Highly Invasive Weed along the California Coast

Touring the California Central and North coast I've noticed increasing amounts of pampas grass growing pretty much everywhere along the coast I look! (Actually many postings laud this plant as a lovely ornamental.) In fact it is competing (and winning) with native coastal species of plants. I've posted several images to demons...

FIRES IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Lightning strikes from a recent "dry" storm has ignited several hundred fires throughout Northern and Central California. I have found little information about them and wish for any and all photos, comments or information about them. I live in Sonoma County where the visibility from Charles Schultz Airport is reduced from 4 miles to little over 1 mile. Smoke and haze from the fires has created worse smog than that of Los Angeles on a smoggy day. I'm sure its much...
