Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 9:28 AM PST Feb. 17, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST
Sunday...

* what... heavy snow occurring. Blowing and drifting snow with
possible blizzard like conditions above 4500 feet this
afternoon and evening. Plan on difficult travel conditions.
Additional snow accumulations of 8 to 15 inches are expected.

* Where... Meacham, Tollgate, and ski bluewood resort.

* When... until 10 PM Sunday.

* Additional details... winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts as high as
70 mph this afternoon and evening will cause blowing and
drifting snow and possible blizzard like conditions mainly above
4500 feet and over the higher terrain of the Blue Mountains.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow means severe
winter weather conditions are occurring. If you must travel, keep
an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. The latest Road conditions for the state you are
calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.




High Wind Warning

... High Wind Warning in effect until 10 PM PST this evening...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a High Wind
Warning... which is in effect until 10 PM PST this evening.

* Winds... southwest 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.

* Timing... strongest winds in the afternoon and evening.

* Impacts... damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. The strong winds combined
with snow above 4500 feet could create some blizzard like
conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
