Oregon department of environmental quality has issued an air
pollution advisory... in effect until further notice.

Wildfires burning in the region will cause air quality levels to
fluctuate and be at unhealthy levels. Today, periods of very
unhealthy to hazardous air quality are expected. Unhealthy
conditions are likely Thursday and continuing into the weekend with
only limited or brief improvements at times.

Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes... runny nose... aggravate
heart and lung diseases... and aggravate other serious health
problems.Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is
smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung
condition.

Fire Weather Watch, Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 2:42 PM PDT Aug. 15, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Thursday afternoon through
late Thursday night for abundant lightning and gusty outflow
winds for fire weather zones 610, 611, and 640...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Fire
Weather Watch, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon through
late Thursday night.

* Affected area... in Oregon... fire weather zones 610... 611... and
640 covering the east slopes of the Oregon Cascades, central
Oregon, and the Prineville district.

* Timing... scattered thunderstorms will develop Thursday afternoon
and evening and will decrease to isolated thunderstorms after
midnight.

* Lightning activity... 3 in the afternoon and evening... decreasing
to 2 overnight.

* Precipitation... a tenth of an inch or less with most storms.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.

for dry thunderstorms on dry fuels for fire weather zones 624 and
625...

* impacts: dry thunderstorms and high fire danger will likely
result in new fire starts. Gusty thunderstorm winds could
contribute to fire spread. Initial attack resources could be
overwhelmed and holdover fires are possible.

* Affected area: most of southern Oregon along and east of the
Cascades. This includes most of fire zones 624 and 625.

* Thunderstorms: isolated to scattered dry thunderstorms this
afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Fire Weather
Watch... which is in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday
evening.

* Impacts: dry thunderstorms and high fire danger will likely
result in new fire starts. Gusty thunderstorm winds could
contribute to fire spread. Initial attack resources could be
overwhelmed and holdover fires are possible. For Thursday,
lightning and high fire danger will likely result in new fire
starts. Gusty thunderstorm winds could contribute to fire spread.
Despite rainfall, initial attack resources could be overwhelmed
and holdover fires are possible.

* Affected area this evening: along and east of the Cascades
including eastern fire zone 617, and all of 623 and 624.

* Affected area on thursday: along and east of the Cascades north
of Chiloquin. This includes eastern fire zone 617, northeastern
623, and northern 624. This does include the Timber Crater 6 and
10 fires.

* Thunderstorms: isolated to scattered dry thunderstorms this
afternoon and evening. Confidence in thunderstorms is moderate
most locations but high in the Cascades and northern Klamath.
Confidence is moderate for tomorrow in the Cascades and northern
Klamath.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Dry lightning on existing very dry fuels could cause numerous new
fire ignitions. Gusty and erratic outflow winds could lead to
rapid fire growth potential.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions

flag warnings.
