... Wind Advisory in effect from 10 am this morning to 4 PM MDT
this afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 10 am this morning to 4 PM MDT
this afternoon.

* Location... south central mountains, eastern Lincoln County, and
southwest Chaves County.

* Winds... southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph this
afternoon.

* Timing... winds will increase this morning and continue through
the early afternoon before tapering off by late afternoon.

* Visibility... locally reduced in areas of blowing dust.

* Local impacts... strong cross winds will create difficult travel
on area roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Motorists should exercise caution while travelling. Sudden gusts
of wind may cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Extra
attention should be given to cross winds.





Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 7:55 PM MDT Apr. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 10 am to 9 PM MDT
Friday for low humidity and high winds for fire weather zones
055, 056, 112, and 113...

* wind... west to southwest at 20 to 30 mph.

* Humidity... 8 to 15 percent.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 11 am CDT /10 am MDT/
to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ Friday for windy and dry conditions, and
very high to extreme fire danger for all of southeast New Mexico
and south through the Davis Mountains and Marfa Plateau...

* wind... southwest 30 to 50 mph in the Guadalupe Mountains with
higher gusts. Southwest 20 to 30 in the plains with higher
gusts.

* Humidity... 5 to 15 percent.

* Fire danger... very high to extreme.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong
winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will increase
potential for fire growth.
