Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 8:23 PM MDT May. 25, 2018 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning for snowmelt remains in effect until 145 am MDT
Monday for south central Broadwater... northern Madison... southeastern
Jefferson and northwestern Gallatin counties...

Snowmelt will cause continued rises along the Jefferson river
through early next week, with flooding lingering into late next week
or longer.

Point forecast for the Jefferson river near Three Forks.
* At 7 PM Friday the stage was 8.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 8.9 feet by
Wednesday.
* Impacts... at 8.5 feet, County roads and bridges and some homes
around Three Forks may be impacted by flood waters.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Saturday for northwestern Gallatin County...

The Flood Warning continues for the Gallatin river near Logan.

Point forecast for the Gallatin river at Logan.
* At 7 PM Friday the stage was 8.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to slowly rise to near 9.9 feet
by Tuesday.
* Impacts... low lying fields near the river may begin to flood. Some
smaller roads and bridges may also be impacted.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Warning continues for
the shields river near Livingston affecting Park County.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10 am Friday the stage was 5.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is expected.
* Forecast... the river will hold steady, or very slowly fall,
Friday and Saturday. Additional rises are then expected Sunday
which should take the river above flood stage once again for
early next week.

the Yellowstone river near Livingston affecting park and Sweet Grass
counties.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11 am Friday the stage was 9.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast this weekend, with moderate flooding
possible early next week.
* Forecast... the river will fluctuate around flood stage through
Saturday, and then rise above flood stage by Sunday. Additional
rises are expected early next week.

* Flood Warning for...
Clark Fork river near plains in...
south central Sanders County in northwestern Montana...

* until further notice.

* At 8:45 am Wednesday the stage was 15.7 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage by Thursday
morning, and will continue to rise to near 17.0 feet by Monday
evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
