southern Quitman County in northwestern Mississippi...
southern Panola County in northwestern Mississippi...

* until 630 PM CST

* at 1235 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
flooding. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Oxford, Batesville, Water Valley, Charleston, George Payne State
Park, Holly Springs National Forest, Tutwiler, Bruce, Lambert,
Coffeeville, Crowder, Webb, Sumner, Pope, Pittsboro, Enid, Paynes,
Sabougla, Cambridge and Bethlehem.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain is
causing flooding. Three to five inches of rain has already fallen
and an additional one to two inches can be expected over the next
1 to 2 hours.

Tupelo, Corinth, Booneville, New Albany, Pontotoc, Ripley, Fulton,
Houston, Baldwyn, Iuka, Verona, Okolona, J P Coleman State Park,
trace State Park, Tombigbee State Park, Tishomingo State Park,
Saltillo, Guntown, Belmont and Bruce.
