Flood Warning
Issued: 7:53 PM CST Feb. 24, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Coushatta.
* From late Sunday night until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Saturday the stage was 28.6 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 31.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday morning and continue to
rise to near 34.0 feet by Wednesday morning.
* Impact... at 34.0 feet... moderate flooding occurs. Severe backwater
flooding occurs from the confluence of the Red River with Loggy
Bayou through the Lower Flat river and Red Chute bayou in southern
Bossier Parish. Cattle and equipment should be moved to higher
ground away from levees.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Shreveport.
* From late Sunday night to Thursday evening... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Saturday the stage was 27.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday morning and continue to
rise to near 31.0 feet by Tuesday morning. The river will fall
below flood stage by Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 31.0 feet... russel Road will be overflowed and closed
between Blanchard Highway and Interstate 220 in North Shreveport.
Also expect backwater flooding up Cross Bayou, Twelve Mile bayou,
and lower mccain creek. High water will creep up to near southern
fant parkway and near the Teague parkway.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Big Cypress bayou at Caddo Lake.
* From Thursday morning until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 7:00 am Saturday the stage was 171.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 172.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Thursday morning and continue
to rise to near 172.5 feet by Saturday morning. Additional rises
remain possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 173.0 feet... several secondary access roads will become
flooded and travel will be difficult especially in and around
uncertain, Texas.
