... Locally heavy snow and difficult travel possible for the
Monday evening commute along portions of I-15 and I-86...
A cold front will sag south across the snake plain on Monday. By
mid Monday afternoon, snow showers are expected to develop along
the front, and could become heavy at times between 3 and 9 PM,
heaviest during the evening commute. The combination of locally
heavy snow and temperatures quickly falling below freezing after
sunset may cause difficult travel for the evening commute along
portions of interstates 86 and 15. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3
inches with locally higher amounts are possible within this band.
There is still some uncertainty in where the band will be
located. At this time the band could potentially be located
between Coldwater and Blackfoot including Pocatello, stretching
northwest to Arco. Continue to follow the latest forecasts and
messaging as we get closer to the potential convergence event by
checking weather.Gov/Pocatello and following the National Weather
Service Pocatello on social media.
