Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 6:52 AM CST Jan. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Watch for reduced visibilities in fog early this morning...

Fog has developed across much of the area early this morning.
Some of the fog was locally dense, with visibilities of 1/2 mile
or less, mainly in parts of the Mississippi River valley and
across the higher terrain areas of northeast Iowa. The fog is
going to persist through 9 am at most locations before
visibilities start to improve.

If driving early this morning, be alert for changing and reduced
visibilities due to fog. Expect untreated roads to have some frost
on them and be slick in the areas of thicker or more persistent
fog. Be especially careful until sunrise when poor visibilities in
fog are compounded by darkness.
