Flood Warning
Issued: 8:50 PM EST Feb. 18, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Conasauga river near Tilton.
* From early afternoon Tuesday until Wednesday evening.
* At 8 PM Monday the stage was 16.3 feet... and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by early Tuesday
afternoon and continue to rise to near 18.7 feet by early Wednesday
morning. The river will fall below flood stage by Wednesday early
afternoon.
* At 18 feet... flood stage is reached. Minor flooding begins in The
Woodlands... fields and pastures along the river upstream and
downstream from the gage on the Brackett Ridge Road bridge.

Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch remains in effect from 7 am EST Tuesday through
Friday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of northwest Georgia... including the following
areas... Bartow... Catoosa... Chattooga... Dade... Floyd... Gordon...
   Murray... Polk... Walker and Whitfield.

* From 7 am EST Tuesday through Friday morning

* soil conditions remain very saturated and river levels remain
high across the area. With 3 to 6 inches of additional
precipitation expected across the area this will produce
significant runoff and flooding of creeks and rivers. Even after
the rain ends, high water could persist for several days after.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
