Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 1:10 AM EST Jan. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory in effect from 5 am to 10 am EST this
morning...

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has
issued a coastal flood advisory, which is in effect from 5 am to
10 am EST this morning.

* Locations... shoreline in the District of Columbia.

* Tidal departure... 1.5 to 2 feet above normal.

* Timing... around the time of high tide. High tide at Washington
Channel is 6:57 am.

* Impacts... shoreline inundation is expected along portions of
the seawall adjacent to Ohio drive and the Hains Point loop
Road, and near the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. Minor
shoreline inundation up to one foot above ground is possible
elsewhere.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.





Wind Advisory
Issued: 8:31 PM EST Jan. 19, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 11 am to 7 PM EST
Sunday...

* timing... Sunday midday through early evening. Highest gusts
will be during the afternoon.

* Winds... northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 45 to 55 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles.
