* Winds... south 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative humidity... as low as 11 percent.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions

strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will

... On this date in weather history...

In 1995, lightning struck an antenna tower in Goodland
Kansas, traveled into a home and caused extensive damage to
electrical equipment, sheetrock, and siding. Damage was also
inflicted to televisions in a 6 block area surrounding the home.

In 1999, softball sized hail fell during a severe thunderstorm 10
miles southwest of Tribune Kansas in Greeley County. Crop damage
was estimated at 2 million dollars.
