... Red flag warning in effect from 11 PM this evening to 5 PM PDT
Thursday for gusty offshore wind and low humidity for fire
weather zone 507...

The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a red
flag warning, which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 5 PM
PDT Thursday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Affected area... fire zone 507, which includes the higher terrain
of Napa, Sonoma and Marin counties.

* Wind... northerly. Ridgetops up to 20 mph sustained with gusts to
35 mph late tonight into Thursday morning. Winds will weaken but
remain northerly late Thursday morning into the afternoon.
Light offshore winds elsewhere.

* Humidity... poor overnight recoveries tonight. Locally as low as
25 to 35 percent in the driest areas. Daytime minimum humidities
as low as the upper single digits to low teens in the driest

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
