Issued: 6:15 PM PDT Oct. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM PDT Wednesday...

* winds... northeast winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph this
evening and 20 to 35 mph with local gusts to 60 mph late
tonight and Tuesday before gradually weakening into Wednesday.

* Impacts... winds this strong may down tree limbs and cause
power outages. Cross winds can make driving difficult,
especially for drivers of high profile vehicles and vehicles
towing trailers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.





Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:16 PM PDT Oct. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 6 PM PDT Wednesday
for much of Los Angeles and Ventura counties due to gusty Santa
Ana winds and hot and dry conditions over the hills and canyons...

* winds... areas of north to northeast winds 15 to 30 mph with
gusts 35 to 45 mph through Tuesday mainly in the hills and
canyons... then weakening through Wednesday.

* Relative humidity... minimum humidities between 5 and 10
percent through Wednesday. Very poor humidity recoveries
expected each night.

* Temperatures... maximums between 95 and 105. Minimums between
65 and 75 except 75 to 85 in the hills.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable
for extreme fire behavior and spread which would threaten life
and property.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are expected. A combination of gusty winds... very low relative
humidity... and hot temperatures can contribute to extreme fire
behavior. Use extreme caution when using potential fire ignition
sources.
