Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 1:57 PM PST Dec. 15, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning in effect from 6 am to 8 PM PST Sunday for
gusty northeast winds and low relative humidity for the Ventura
coast and Los Angeles coast from Malibu to Hollywood Hills...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
red flag warning for gusty north to northeast winds and low
relative humidity, which is in effect from 6 am to 8 PM PST
Sunday.

* Winds... northeast winds are expected to peak late Saturday night
into Sunday morning at 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph.

* Relative humidity... humidities above 15 percent will be possible
late Saturday night, but are expected to lower to 10 to 15
percent on Sunday.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs, there will be the potential
for very rapid spread of wildfire, long range spotting, and
extreme fire behavior that could lead to a threat to life and
property. Use extreme caution with potential fire ignition
sources.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are expected. A combination of strong winds... low relative
humidity... and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire
behavior.
