* At 715 PM PST, satellite pictures and Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain will move over the area this evening into the early
morning hours and cause urban and small stream flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Elk Grove, Roseville, Vallejo,
Fairfield, Vacaville, Citrus Heights, Tracy, Folsom, Turlock,
Davis, Pittsburg, Rocklin, Woodland, Ceres, Benicia, Galt and
Oakdale.

* Rapid rises in small creeks and streams tonight! Some of the
smaller creeks may overflow there banks.

* Heaviest rainfall tonight. Many small creeks and streams peaking
mid to late Thursday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Forecast information for
Sacramento River at Tisdale Weir.
* At 1:15 am Thursday the stage was 44.0 feet.
* No flooding is currently forecast.
* Forecast to begin overflow this afternoon then overflow depth at
Weir increasing to 3.9 ft tomorrow evening then overflow depth at
Weir decreasing to 3.8 ft early Saturday morning.
* Flood stage 53.0 ft
* monitor stage 45.5 ft
* impact... near 45.5 feet, Tisdale Weir crest elevation. Overflow
begins into the Tisdale bypass. This water eventually ends up in
the Sutter bypass.
