Flood Warning
Issued: 7:44 PM CDT May. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Newport.
* Until Thursday afternoon... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Monday the stage was 26.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 27.0 feet by
tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage late
Wednesday morning.
* Impacts at 27.0 feet... State Highway 14 between Newport and Oil
Trough and State Highway 122 to Newark affected. Possible
structural flooding along State Highway 14 in Independence County.
Bateman levee patrolling begins.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Cache River near Patterson.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Monday the stage was 10.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will hover between 10.3 and 10.4 feet
through Friday afternoon before a slow fall begins.
* Impacts at 10.5 feet... water deep over Woodruff County Road 775
north of Hwy 260, and intersection of Hwy 37 and Hwy 18 east of
Grubbs. Water is encroaching on yards of homes on Pine street in
Patterson. Many acres of cropland, pastures, and Timber flooded in
Jackson and Woodruff counties.

the Black River at Black Rock.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Monday the stage was 18.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 18.1 feet
by Wednesday morning.
* Impacts at 17.0 feet... low lying cultivated land and pastures in
Lawrence, Jackson, and Independence counties flood.
